Calling and timing
Are you open at night?
The line is answered 24/7. A technician is sent as soon as one is free, and the caller is told what to do while waiting.
How long before a technician arrives?
No arrival time is promised over the phone, because an honest one cannot be given until the schedule is clear. The caller is told the position in the queue.
Which calls go first?
Anyone at risk from a nest near a door, a bite or sting that causes a reaction, or a food area with a rodent sign goes to the front of the queue.
The walk and the price
What happens on the first visit?
The technician walks the outside, lists the openings, walks the rooms with signs and writes a plan with the findings, the options and the price for each.
Why is the price not given on the phone?
The price depends on what the walk finds. It is confirmed on site, before any work begins, and the household decides which option to take.
Will you spray straight away?
No. The published advice puts sealing and clean-up first, and a treatment is added only where the walk shows it is needed.
Licences and the Minnesota side
Who licenses the technician in North Dakota?
The Pesticide Division of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture licenses applicators, and the NDSU Extension Pesticide Program handles certification for the categories of work.
Does a North Dakota certificate cover Moorhead?
No. Moorhead, Dilworth and the Clay County towns are in Minnesota, and the work there follows Minnesota's commercial applicator rules, which require a licence for any pesticide applied for hire.
Can I see the certificate?
Yes. Ask on the phone or at the visit, and the technician should be able to show the credential for the work being done.
Question not answered here?
Call and ask. A technician will give you a straight answer, even if the answer is that you do not need us.
